cVIGIL Investigator: An App for Field Unit Investigations
cVIGIL Investigator is a free Android app developed by the Election Commission of India. It falls under the category of Business & Productivity and is specifically designed for field units such as Flying Squads and Static Surveillance teams.
The app allows field units to investigate cVIGIL Citizen cases and conduct Suo-Motu case reporting. When citizens lodge complaints on the Model Code of Conduct or Expenditure violations, these complaints are logged on the cVIGIL App. Once authorized by the District Controller, the complaints are assigned to the respective field unit. The app provides geographical coordinates through the Global Positioning System, enabling the field unit to identify the incident spot and initiate the investigation.
After completing the investigation, the field team can submit a status report along with evidence to the respective Returning Officer. With cVIGIL Investigator, field units have a convenient tool to streamline their investigations and contribute to the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct.
